Cancer Coaching
A diagnosis, treatment and moving forward from a cancer experience can bring many challenges. It can affect people physically, emotionally, mentally and practically and can bring many health behaviours and lifestyle factors into sharp focus. Cancer coaching can help people navigate their way through the cancer experience, whether that is at the time of diagnosis, through treatment and follow up and finding a new normal beyond cancer. Cancer coaching can help people feel more in control of their experience by supporting them to set and achieve goals that are meaningful and important to them, to live the life they want to.
Juliet has a deep understanding of the cancer experience having worked in cancer care for over 20 years. She has worked with individuals, couples and groups in hospitals, hospices, and in private practice. She was the National Clinical Lead for the Cancer Psychological and Social Support Service in New Zealand, leading teams in every hospital in New Zealand supporting people affected by cancer.
As a cancer coach, Juliet will work with you to achieve your vision and goals. She will listen, understand and will work with you at your own pace. She will provide a safe, supportive space in which you can try things without judgement and say things without concern about the impact.
Chronic illness coaching
A diagnosis of a chronic illness such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, chronic fatigue, or arthritis comes with many recommendations for people to change their health behaviours. This could include dietary changes, weight loss or gain, movement and activity, stress management, a focus on sleep and learning to take medications and monitor your health. Health coaching can help people learn to self-manage their condition, set goals and action them, problem solve, build your confidence and make sustainable health behaviour change to help you live the life you want.
Juliet has worked with many chronic illness conditions in her 25 years of working as a Health Psychologist in New Zealand. As a coach she will work alongside you to understand your vision, goals and motivations, she will work with you to put these into action, to help you be in control of the aspects of your health that are in your control.
Her knowledge of physical illnesses and their impact on people psychologically, emotionally and practically, provides a valuable background for you to get the most out of the working with a health coach.
Professional Supervision
Professional supervision supports professionals in their critical reflection of their work, provides guidance, and feedback to help supervisees develop their skills, improve their practice, and achieve professional growth in their field. Some professions mandate regular supervision but all caring professions benefit from having a trusted professional supervisor.
Juliet has provided professional supervision for over 20 years and has supervised a wide variety of professional groups including psychologists, therapists, nurses, health coaches, trainee doctors, palliative care doctors, oncologists, teachers and lawyers. She provides a safe and supportive space in which you can explore growth and development opportunities and works with you to help meet your professional goals.
